About Me

Holly serves as the Director of Administration for the African American Trust for Historic Preservation in a part-time capacity. She worked for 16 years in higher education before deciding to return to graduate school as a student in EPE. Her most recent role was Director of Auxiliary Services, overseeing multiple revenue-generating units at Kentucky State University, one of 107 HBCUs. In 2018, she was humbled to be named as one of the Top 25 Women in Higher Education by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Prior to joining KSU, she was Director of Membership Sales & Marketing for the Clubs at the University of Kentucky, where she headed corporate, alumni and individual membership enhancement, increased the community profile and developed interns. Prior to that, she managed the day-to-day operations of the official representative body for staff in the Office of the Staff Senate under the Office of the President, working with all constituencies at the university to facilitate communication and collaboration. Her first role at UK consisted of assisting the Editor of the premier journal in its field, Education Administration Quarterly at which time she also produced papers on Brown v. Board of Education and efficacy of homiletics of the Black preacher. She also has extensive experience in retail, direct sales, and hospitality, having worked for Westin, Macys, Legal Shield and other international companies.

Holly is a graduate of the long-running national College Business Management Institute and led major university award, fundraising and social events over the years at UK, including the Outstanding Staff Awards program, the philanthropic UK Employee DanceBlue Mini-Marathon, and BOONE-anza! She currently serves as Marketing Chair for a new and exciting philanthropic project that will benefit a UK entity, the details of which will be announced later this year.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Holly served her country as an enlisted member and Legal Specialist at Ft. Bliss, Texas, in El Paso, where she earned the coveted Physical Fitness Excellence Award before returning to her roots in Lexington. She is a descendant of American slaves and fourth generation college graduate, having attended Spelman College on academic scholarship, as well as Asbury University, where she earned a B.S. degree in Business Management and Ethics with high honors.
