About Me

I am Associate General Counsel for Risk & Litigation for Genesis Healthcare, a healthcare company that provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in over 400 facilities across the country. I graduated from Centre College in 2005 and UK College of Law in 2009 and started my legal career clerking for Judge Phillip J. Shepherd in Franklin Circuit Court. I began working as a medical malpractice defense litigator specializing in long term care defense in 2010 and joined Genesis as an in-house attorney in 2017.

In my role as Associate General Counsel, I litigate numerous cases on behalf of Genesis and our skilled nursing facilities across Kentucky and also manage our medical negligence litigation in Kentucky as well as in other states. I work with the risk management team to identify critical issues in litigation and to develop innovative approaches to mitigate the risk of litigation and educate facility staff about important legal issues.

I live in Lexington with my husband, Ben, our dog, Coal, and cat, Chaos. I love to travel and explore new places and cuisines and have a passion for live music. Having grown up on a horse farm near Midway, I am proud to volunteer with the Friends of the Bluegrass Land Conservancy. I'm also actively involved with the Women Lawyers' Association of the Fayette County Bar and currently serve as the President.
