About Me

Ryan Worthen is the Director of Communications for Kentucky Employers' Mutual Insurance (KEMI) where he has served since 2002. He is skilled in strategic planning, business development, stakeholder and public relations, design and media production, corporate social responsibility efforts, and more.

Ryan currently serves on the board of directors for the Lexington Hearing & Speech Center, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Thoroughbred Chapter, and YMCA of Central Kentucky. He also volunteers for several other charitable organizations including Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass and Southland Christian Church.

He served previously as the chair of the Marketing and Community Awareness Committee on the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass and is a past president of PRSA (Thoroughbred Chapter). Ryan served as a committee chair for the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds, an association of workers’ compensation insurance companies representing 26 different states and 8 workers’ compensation boards in Canada.

Ryan is a former collegiate tennis player and holds a bachelor of arts degree in business management from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.
