About Me

Carrie Thayer is a marketing and development professional who thrives on creativity and uniting behind missions. She graduated from Michigan State University and worked in publishing in Cleveland, Ohio and Baltimore, Maryland before moving to Kentucky 25 years ago.

After running her own marketing consulting firm, humane society work and a consulting contract cemented her passion for the nonprofit world and working for a cause. As Director of Development for the Hope Center and One Parent Scholar House for the past nine years, she oversees all community relations, events, donor relations, communications and volunteer relations.

Carrie is also involved in Leadership Lexington, AFP of the Bluegrass, Women Leading Kentucky and Scott County Humane Society and spends her free time with her two grown kids and her black Lab. She believes through united work and compassion for others we can all live our God-given purpose.
