Afton Fairchild: Community Engagement Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass

Afton Fairchild currently serves as the Community Engagement Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass (BBBSBG), where she has been employed since 2017. Afton’s primary duties include fundraising, marketing, and event planning. Prior to her employment with the agency, Afton served as a Big Sister for over 7 years to her Little, Holly. Having always desired to work in a field where she was able to give back, Afton says she has never felt more at home than she does at BBBSBG and admits she wouldn’t be where she is today without the influence of her Little. Afton prides herself in her diverse employment history, having worked as a communications professional for a newspaper, college, political campaign, and hospital before arriving at BBBSBG. Afton is a 31-year-old native of Montgomery County and a graduate of both Montgomery County High School and Morehead State University. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, visiting craft breweries and interesting restaurants, and playing disc golf, and has long been a collector of all-things-unicorn (since before it was cool). She is the proud mother of two cat children, Charlie and Carol.
